I arrived before 6pm on a Sunday and it was already getting packed. The ambiance is really nice. There's a sort of rustic feel. I ordered the blue corn enchiladas with adovada. That was pretty tasty. I got it with salsa verde with Christmas sauce on the side. Honestly didn't enjoy the Christmas sauce as much but I still finished it. The servers were nice and attentive. I ordered a Gradioso margarita, which actually made me feel a little buzzy afterwards haha. It was not as sour or sweet but it was described as a bolder taste. Overall a cozy place to hang out. Lots of people came to just enjoy the drinks.

Always love the margaritas... Both in selection and quality. The food, sopapillas, and atmosphere are great too. A favorite when we're in Santa Fe.

This restaurant was amazing. and THE SERVICE was THE BEST!!!! Margaritas were absolutely perfect! 10/10 would recommend

I lived in Central Mexico for years. Maria's flavors and combinations distinctly evoque the taste and aroma of classic Mexican recipes, however, I now have a better understanding of what is known as "New Mexican cuisine". And it is distinct and delicious.Last weekend our large group ate in a side room at Maria's. We were over 100 people.Service was excellent. Plates served hot. Drinks were cold.Their smiles never faltered.I recommend Maria's as an excellent choice once you've wandered around ( and tasted) the downtown area.Particular "Thank you" to the bartenders and servers, I even sang them a song! They will never forgive me...

Excellent blue corn enchiladas. Excellent chicken quesadillas. Really great service by Diana. Highly recommend with great prices.

So, so very good. Do not miss this place. Best food & if you like Margaritas you will not be disappointed. #1 on our list. Try the green chili stew, amazing.

Long established locally owned resturant serving New Mexico tasty cuisine. Freshly made tortillas and sopapillas, mild to hot red or green chili, etc. Maria's is famous for their extensive margarita menu. Cozy but spacious environment and family friendly. Prompt attentive service.

We went to Maria’s for margaritas and while we were less impressed with the drinks, we were blown away by the green chile chicken stew! It was phenomenal. So good that we bought a bowl to go.

It smelled like my great grandmothers kitchen. Even the fire place in the main room looked familiar. The chicken enchiladas were so good and our server was fast and friendly.

Very good food. Have been here several times. If your ever in the Santa Fe area, I would recommend a stop.

First time here was a great experience. Brought a friend from out of town who loves the enchiladas. Diana was a great host. Make sure you try the tacos.

Excellent Mexican food. We tried Enchiladas, tacos and Fajitas. Spicy and yummy. One star less because of ambience issue. Couple of birthday parties were going on.

Food was delicious, staff was awesome! Overall such a great experience! if you’re ever in Santa Fe you definitely need to come check out Maria’s!

The food was what you’d expect of a quality New Mexican restaurant. The portions were pretty large, so don’t be too liberal with your order unless you want go back to your car with your belly on the brink of explosion. Servers were nice and the atmosphere felt warm and intimate. It’s a great place for a quiet date or a small group of friends. I would come back.

This place has the best tortillas and sopapillas that I've ever tried. I ordered the Green Chile Chicken Stew and loved it. The prickly pear tea is quite refreshing as well.

Waiter came to our table right after smoking a cigarette in the parking lot. Drinks were too strong and the "no lime" policy for margaritas is ridiculous. Otherwise, the food was good, the location is convenient and they take reservations.

Beware of the margaritas! They’re delicious and much more boozy. Fajitas were phenomenal.
Felix Buxo
The service was great, the food and drinks good and the prices reasonable for the area. The place is rustically decorated and in need of 'freshening up' but it felt clean and friendly. Nothing fancy but a good choice.

After a 6 hour drive from Denver this is as good as it gets in Santa Fe. Yes a drive 25min north to española you'll find tastier red Chile, fluffier sopapillas, and better salsa but this is a prime spot with great parking. The frozen pomegranate margarita was like an ice with alcohol not recommended maybe it was just the bartender and we got there an hour before closing.

If I am within 500 miles you will find me at Maria's. I am Texan from austin and it beats any texmex I have had. Love

Great old building with new addition. Food and drinks are great! Very good staff too!

Nice cozy restraunt with a fireplace and beautiful hardwood floors. Although the place is beautiful it kind of feels like a tourist eatery. I wasn't a big fan of the beef I had in my burrito it was just normal hamburger but the tortillas were very good. Also the salsa was great but the chips we had were very hard.
Brad Davis
Great Margarita selection, bigger than the food menu. Food is pretty good also.
Glen Burton
Gotta have Maria's everytime we are in Santa Fe, great food and drinks. Busy so plan accordingly. Not sure if take reservations, aside from large parties. Go.

Best guacamole we've ever had. I had tacos and they were great, refried beans and Spanish rice were great, my husband's dish of chicken was great and our friends both said their meals were great so we assume anything you order from the menu will be very tasty. The salsa that is served with the chips is spicy hot but we asked for something milder and it was spicy but not so hot that we couldn't taste it. Good place to go, plus the staff were friendly and efficient.

Good and authentic food. The BEST margarita selection in town. Also super helpful staff to help you choose.Like the galisteo chicken as well as their fajitas. We go there for dinner as well with bigger parties. They are super helpful in organizing things and. If parties get their own room.

We had a wonderful dinner here. Everything was fresh and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.Parking was the only issue, lot was full so we ended up parking on a near by street.

Seems like a very popular place around Santa Fe. Loved the ambiance inside. Generally is crowded and has a hidden entrance which is hard to spot. Limited vegetarian options but whatever we ordered was tasty. Vegetarians.. do try the veggie quesadilla. Veggie fagitas were mediocre. Staff was friendly
Mike King
Solid mexican food. Love the chili stew w/ pork. So good we went back another day
Ellen Bromley
Good food. Good service. A book of margaritas to choose from. Large restaurant with multiple dining areas.

An unexpected surprise!! Highly recommend. Out of 30+ restaurants so far... best tamales & best salsa in SantaFe proper. Even their House Margaritas are top shelf, and it’s one of the few places in SF that bring you chips & salsa at no charge. As if that’s not enough the wait staff are positively DELIGHTFUL. Anna is fantastic— but they all seem to be having fun. Probably more of a local haunt. Mostly casual dress — but a few in high SantaFe form. IF IT’S YOUR FIRST TIME NOTE: Parking is in back, so turn in the tiny ally JUST BEFORE the place in order to access the parking lot in the rear. If you miss it - you’ll have to circle around a ways to have a 2nd chance at it. Enjoy!! I’ll be back.

I'll take my hat off for this place! The salsa that comes with chips was really good! Again just my personal taste, wasn't burning hot or mild it's was just perfect between hot and medium! Very tasty.I order the tamalis, oh boy what can I say that next time I'll come back here to try more things. The red salsa even that I personally do not care for red salsa but this place has a pretty tasty one.My wife Got a side of green Chile with her enchiladas it was so good that I had to bring one home! Let's do not talk about the many options they gave you for margaritas I think it's like a 100 options yes I thought the same thing 100 options!!?? I am sure that you will find something fOf your personal choice!!Yes I am coming back to Maria's!!

Driving through and decide to try a local spot for lunch and my wife and I were not disappointed. Very delicious food. Waitress was extremely attentive and very nice. A cute little quaint location to try.

Excellent New Mexican cuisine. Daily specials and great fresh sopapillas. Turning left out of the parking lots is really difficult due to traffic. Go right and make the block if you need to go that way.

A great spot in Santa fe for awesome Mexican food. I liked the atmosphere and the dim lights it had a special feel to it. Tried the chimichanga and was happy with my choice. Their guacamole is phenomenal, best part if the meal. My mother tried the trout dinner and couldn't stop exclaiming how great it was while she was eating it. Needless to say we were impressed. Didn't try any margaritas so cant speak on that but they're supposed to have over 100 flavors.

The restaurant changed ownership five years. It was disappointing to see that the food quality is not what it used to be. The bread and tortilla chips, however, were good. Prepare to wait for a table no matter what time of day you go. Parking is limited as well. We tried to go for dinner but couldn't find parking. We went the next day for lunch at 2pm, thinking we'd avoid the rush and still had to wait 15 minutes. They do take reservations, however.

First time there. Really good. The salsa was great! Had blue corn enchiladas, red, with an egg, of course. Our waiter was training and did a very nice job. I asked about alacarte options and was accommodated. Parking is crazy. We will return.

Excellent food and margaritas! My husband was thrilled with his dinner. Hadn't had such good Mexican food in years.

I have been eating at Marie's for 44 years and never pass on an opportunity to enjoy their cuisine. Their are several excellent Mexican food restaurants in Santa fe and this is one of them. Locals love it. That is a good sign!

I really enjoyed the adobada and the sauces--they made for a flavorful lunch. I feel that you can tell a lot about a place by its enchiladas, and the pork adobada enchiladas were very tasty (both green and red sauce). However, if you happen to be from Texas, don't order the queso. My husband and I were curious about what New Mexican queso tastes like, and it definitely doesn't live up to Texan standards. The sopapillas served with the meal were absolutely delicious though. Overall, I had a nice, flavorful lunch and an enjoyable taste of NM.

Awesome food and great service here. I've never seen such a huge menu for margaritas anywhere. The entrees both came with sopapillas that were delicious. I would definitely come back here the next time im in the area.

Damn good food. Salsa was good. Guac was good. Service was good. I'm from out of town and wish I could bring them home with me. The service was prompt and friendly. Food was prepared fresh and served very quickly. Everything was just good. It was a good experience and a good time. I recommend this place to anyone local or passing through like I was. You'll regret it if you dont and miss it if you do.
Mark Recek
Great New Mexican food! I really like their red and green sauces. They also have a wide variety of margaritas, 150+ on a separate margarita menu. I would definitely visit again on my next trip to Santa Fe.
Vivian Brister
Chile rellenos were crisp and flavorful. I prefer green. Not a fan of the rice, but didn't go there for the rice. I love their green sauce-spicy, but not over the top.
Tiffany Low-Gardunio
This place is hands down the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. The price is extremely reasonable for the quality, which is homemade top notch. I can't complain about one thing. Mr. Virgil was our server and the bartender- he was super attentive, polite, and had great suggestions. Everyone who works here looks happy and are friendly with each other, and that's an amazing quality more restaurants should have. I'll be coming back!

We came here the first over 15 years ago and we always wanted to come back. We got our chance in November and we absolutely loved it!! Red Chile and hatch green Chile amazing!!! It's truly authentic Mexican food.
